ROLLECX Project

The overall objective of the ROLLECX project is the design and development of a new system for inspection and evaluation of the structural integrity of rolling mill rolls that allows the detection of defects through a combination of non-invasive technologies.

The inspection of rolling rings during the machining and grinding process is of vital importance for quality control in the steel and related industries. The information provided by the new inspection system will allow the elimination of auxiliary post-grinding inspection operations, increase the level of sensitivity in defect detection and reduce factory operation times.
